Trainees gather for Graduation

Despite limitations on numbers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were still able to celebrate the amazing journey of the Teach East 20/21 cohorts; a blended ceremony with a mixture of live and remote access, so everyone could celebrate together in some way.

Trainees were treated to an outdoor ceremony at Arthur Mellows Village College, hosted by the Teach East Directors and Senior Team and supported by excellent speeches from Pamela Kilbey (CEO of PKAT and Teach East Executive Board member) and Mike Sandeman (CEO 4Cs MAT and Teach East Executive Board member) who were inspiring and humble in equal measure.

Trainees received their awards from the guests and were able to celebrate with their friends and family joining via remote link.

The Currie Family were also in attendance as special guests to present Primary Graduate Carly Fishpool with the Andrew Currie Shining Light Award, celebrating the legacy of the wonderful Andrew Currie and his involvement with Teach East over so many years; on his behalf the Currie family made a donation to a charity of Carly's choice; we are so proud of her, and how she upholds the fantastic work that Andrew dedicated to our SCITT and teacher development in the city.
